Dr. Ona, is amazing! I'm so very happy I found him. He actually listens and lets you talk which is rare, unfortunately. I have been having issues for years and another gastro doctor would have me do colonoscopies, in fact 2! They would come back normal and he'd send me on my way. I was in my early 30's btw. Issues continued and I just dealt with it for a while until I couldn't take it anymore. I decided on Dr. Ona, just based on his little bio he had and I "had a feeling". First appointment I knew he was going to help me. He already knew what my issue was (SIBO) and had me take a test. Came back positive! I was happy to see it was positive! lol Anyways not to make this long but bottom line; first visit he knew right away and bonus, he listens and he is really so nice!
Highly recommend for all your GI needs! Dr. Ona & his staff provide 5 star medical care from check in to check out! I had an upper endoscopy where a scope is inserted in the mouth to check the esophagus, stomach, & small intestine. My anxiety before the procedure was minimal because of all the care & attention I received. After the procedure I felt fine except for a sore throat which is normal. They really live up to their name by treating their patients like Ohana!
Wonderful, warm, caring staff. I felt very well taken care of with a procedure I wasn't looking forward to! Everything explained well before and after. Didn't feel a thing! Reccomend highly.
Recently visited Dr Ona for my son, Dr Ona and staff is so wonderful! He takes the time to listen when you have questions, we highly recommend this Dr to other people!

"Really great experience. Any time you have to go into the doctors office it's always somewhat stressful. Dr. Ona is great, he's very compassionate to your needs and concerns. While most doctors are rushing you in and out, Dr. Ona spends the time to listen and gives great feedback. I couldn't recommend another Gastro Doctor, but as far as doctors go Dr. Ona is fantastic. He spent the time to diagnose my issues and with great success I truly appreciate his work."
"Where do you begin about a man who saves your life? As I sit here and read the other reviews, I am absolutely humbled by my experience with this doctor. I have been chronic abdominal pain for 18 years. I have seen some of the best specialists our country has to offer in my 5000 mile journey to Hawaii. I can unequivocally say that Dr. Ona has a compassion and commitment to patient care like none other. He is reminiscent of a time when doctors made house calls, knew their patients and families. His willingness to communicate outside of office visits in such a timely manner seems to make every patient feel like their best care is always at the forefront for him. I am so blessed to have found someone who is unfailingly passionate about my quality of life. "I changed gastro docs and am so glad I found Dr. Ona! What was a long term symptom that was attributed to not having a gallbladder was determined to be bacterial overgrowth, something that Dr. Ona had suspected and was confirmed through thorough testing he prescribed. After a bout of antibiotics, all of the symptoms were gone! Thank you Dr. Ona for bringing back a sense of normalcy to my life, something I never thought would be possible!"

"Man where do I start. Dr. ONA your the best! I usally hate the doctors and I feel uncomfortable when I do go in. But your the first doctor I can feel comfortable talking to about my G.I problems. Your really compassionate about me and my well-being. And from other reviews I have been reading that just proves you are naturally a caring and humble person and you’re blessed for that. "Wow! Dr Ona is absolutely amazing I could ramble on about his excellence until I run out of room on the page. I’ve been struggling with GI issues for quiet awhile to the point where is was in the Er . I came to Dr. Ona and we started addressing issues one by one . In times where I felt discouraged Dr. Ona kept my hopes up, kept me laughing, and said “Tasha we are going to figure this out I promise .” Dr Ona is thorough, compassionate , and excellent at what he does . I am so blessed to have found him . I would recommend him for my family, my friends and any person in need of any treatment . I just about went through every procedure he does . Normally I would be so nervous but Dr. Ona and his staff are so genuine and kind I didn’t worry because I knew I was getting the highest quality of care . "I was referred to Dr. Ona by my PCP and Let me say, He is one of the best Doctors I have ever had. I've had some really bad experiences with Doctors in the past, and Dr. Ona is the absolute BEST. He is very caring and puts patients first. He never forces me to do something I am uncomfortable doing and always makes sure I am ok with any step we take forward. When I needed a consult or had questions, I could call the office and He will respond in a very timely manner.
